About:China Embassy in Thailand

I have to make a transit in Hong Kong on Cathay Pacific. I have to change planes as I am coming from Bangkok and going to Osaka. I have no need to enter Hong Kong, and my transfer time is 2-3 hours. Do I need a transit visa? If so, please let me know how to get one, and any chances of denial. I have travelled to Hong Kong before when I didn't need visa, and I don't have any criminal record etc. I need to know if there is any chances of denial because I have to confirm a non-refundable ticket soon. Also, it would help if you would please pick up the phone. Thanks.
