Kite was invented many many years ago. There are some parlances about its invention time. First, it was invented by Mo Zi, the philosopher and militarist of the Spring and Autumn Period (770BC-476BC). Second, it was invented by Han Xin, a famous official of the Western Han Dynasty (206BC-24AD). Third, it was invented by Yang Che’er in Southern and Northern Dynasties (386-589). Fourth, it was invented by Li Ye in the Five Dynasties Period (907-960). But most scholars do believe the first parlance. It’s said that before the Tang Dynasty, kite was very big. It can even take a person to fly in the sky. According to historical data, they were even used in wars.
