About:Chinese Embassy in Vietnam

I am a US citizen, working in Vietnam. I will be traveling to the United States for the holidays transiting through Guangzhou - China Southern Airlines to Guangzhou and Northwest Airlines to the US. There is about 20 hours between my arrival and departure in Guangzhou. Can you advise on what kind of visa is required for me?

Mr.Benjamin, I think you needn't a visa for the transit in Guangzhou if you won't go out of the airport.
