About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Does this qualify for 10 day visa free to China?

I have a round trip ticket from USA to HK.
Can I do a plane ticket from HK to Vietnam to Guang Zhou? Stay Guang Zhou and Shen Zhen, 8 days. Train or ferry ticket from Shen Zhen to HK airport to go back to USA.

Wing, your itinerary is definitely eligible for 240 hour visa free transit. The segments that really matters is:

Vietnam - mainland China - Hong Kong

This is allowed and you should just have in mind to book your train or ferry ticket from Shenzhen to Hong Kong before your check-in in Vietnam because you will be asked to present it in both Vietnam and upon your landing in Guangzhou. Have a nice visit to China.
