Yes, it definitely qualifies for 24 hour visa free transit and you should not worry about it. The only detail that you should take care of is that your transit time in Beijing (China) is not longer than 24 hours when taking into account your scheduled landing time until your scheduled departure time.
When you land in Beijing (PEK) you will do the following:
- Fill out arrival card
- Perform fingerprinting at automatic fingerprinting machine
- Approach 24/240 hour visa free transit counter where you will present your flight tickets along with arrival card and fingerprinting receipt. It is advisable to have your flight tickets as printouts, ready to be presented. In short, you will apply, in this way, for a temporary entry permit to be allowed to exit the airport. After a short check, you will be granted a permit in your passport. This is all free of any charge.
- With a permit in the passport and all the stuff I have mentioned above you will proceed to the immigration. You will formally enter China and then you will collect your luggage and exit the airport building.
- Based on the length of your layover you will decide whether you will head to the Beijing city center to explore it or to have a good nigh rest in the hotel or in case if you have relatively short time you will transfer to PKX airport immediately.
- If you decide to transfer to PKX directly from PEK airport the most comfortable and the most convenient option is to take a direct bus that connects two airports. Thewy are scarce and they depart from PEK at: 9:30, 12:00 and 15:00. If you are close to the times of their departures, just catch one because it is affordable and definitely easiest option. If you have inconvenient times, you will take other options.
- When you arrive at PKX you will just proceed with the usual procedure of check-in and immigration crossing in order to reach the gate for your onward flight.
