About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Travelling within china

Hi,

So I am planning to visit China in Chengdu for 5 days from London and my next flight after those 5 days would be from Chengdu to Nepal, thus qualifying for the transit visa.
My question is that within those 5 days am I allowed to leave the sichuan province in Chengdu to go to Chongqing or am I only limited to stay in the sichuan province?

Your itinerary is definitely and undoubtedly eligible for 240 hour visa free transit and you do not need any kind of visa. Also, you are allowed to travel across the Chinese province boundaries when traveling on 240 hour visa free transit. In other words, you are allowed to travel from Chengdu to Chongqing, but not only there, but also to other places like Guilin, Xi'an, Beijing and many other. One detail here... I recommend you to use correct terminology because this is not a transit visa, but 240 hour visa free transit, so there is no visa of any kind. It is better to use correct terminology in order to avoid any possible misunderstandings. Have a nice visit to China.
