About:Visa on Arrival

immigration / VISA ( Brazilina people )

Hello, good afternoon. Could you please help me with the following information:
We are a group of 5 Brazilians (I know that Brazil has a visa exemption with China until May 31, 2026). We plan to stay in Shenzhen Porto and travel to Hong Kong for 5 days, round-trip by ferry, train, or bus. Would we still need a 5-day Shenzhen visa for each day? Do we have to go through immigration as usual?
Thank you very much.

You are correct when you say that the citizens of Brazil do not need a visa to enter and stay in China for up to 30 days. This same rule is valid for Shenzhen too. Shenzhen is an integral part of mainland China and you do not need any kind of visa, Shenzhen visa included. In other words, you can commute between Shenzhen, Hong Kong, Macau, back in Shenzhen, then in some other part of China as you wish, all visa free. When crossing between mainland China and Hong Kong, you will cross the immigration and the same thing is valid if you travel between Hong Kong and Macau and Macau to mainland China. Every border crossing implies immigration checks, similar to the checks between Brazil and Argentina or Brazil and Uruguay. However, you will never queue in front of the visa offices because you do not need a visa. You will go straight to the immigration counters. No visas or restrictions for you, but the usual immigration formalities remain. I hope this helps.

Good morning, Borut. I hope you're doing well.
Would it be okay if I stayed in Shenzhen (cheaper) and went to Hong Kong every day, then returned at night to sleep in Shenzhen (Brazilian passport). We'll be a group of five, and we'll only be in Hong Kong for six days.
We'll arrive at Hong Kong Airport and plan to travel by ferry, metro, or bus.

Thank you again.

Yes, you are definitely allowed to do that. Since you can travel to both mainland China and Hong Kong visa free, you are free to take any border crossing in both directions and also any mean of transport of your choice. No limits for you whatsoever. Have a nice stay in China.
