240-Hour Visa-Free Transit - Brazilian passport

Good morning, I am Italian and my wife is Brazilian, but we live in Spain; thanks to your advice last september we travelled to Beijing and then to Malaysia. I see there is a good new, I mean Brazilian passport is allowed to stay in China up to 240 Hours with a Visa-free transit ! So we want to go to China again and we are planning this itinerary: MAD-BEIJING (only 3 hours transit) - CANTON ( all with Air China and 240 hours Visa-free transit in Canton) - CANTON - HONG KONG (Cathay Pacific) and return: HONG KONG - BEIJING - MADRID (all with Air China).
I have three questions for my wife with Brazilian passport
- Is it possible this itinerary, with a short transit and in Beijing ? (I see that before it was not possible)
- Is is allowed to fly from Canton to Hong Kong with a different airline ? Because Air China doesn't fly from Canton to Hong Kong
- From Canton we want to go to Guilin by train; Guilin area is included in 240 Hour Visa-free transit ? (with 144 hour before it was impossible to visit Canto and Guilin !).

Thank you very much

1. The itinerary is eligible. Under the new policy, your wife is allowed to travel freely among all the allowed transit areas, like from Beijing to Canton. And her entry formality will be done in Beijing and the 240-hour begins counting from Beijing.
2. Yes, it’s allowed. Actually, your wife can exit from Canton from any open port, which means she can also travel by ferry or train instead of flight, which saves money. Just that she needs to have the printed ticket information in hand when landing in Beijing and for completing the entry formality.
3. Yes, Guilin is included in the 240-hour transit region. Previously, it was 72-hour in Guilin and it’s not allowed to travel from one transit region to another.

In one words, just make sure your travel destinations are all eligible transit regions and your stay is no more than 10 days, then your wife can travel visa-free in China.
