About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Consecutive TWOV

Can this be done multiple times consecutively? For example, an 18 day trip broken into two even parts. Depart China on Day 9 and then reenter the same day for Part 2.

Yes, it is possible and it is perfectly legal. There is no formal limit on the number of repeated uses of this visa free transit scheme at all. In the case of multiple use, if that surpasses more than two times within 20 days, that would almost certainly activate a kind of a suspicion among the Chinese immigration officials and they would, almost certainly tell you, at the moment of the third entry, that they will start to treat such a use of the visa free transit scheme as a kind of a misuse. In any case, using this scheme twice consecutively is perfectly fine and is used by many in order to maximize the number of days for their planned visit while they are located in the region. In other words, you can proceed with your intended travel plan with absolute peace of mind. Have a nice visit to China.
