About:Visa on Arrival

Shenzen airport to Honk Kong in one day - visa for Slovenians

Dear Sir or Madam,
I would like to know if it is possible to travel from Shenzen (airport) to Honk Kong and back as we have a long layover in Shenzen. I would like to know if we need any visas and if yes which border crossings should I take (so that we can obtain the visas both ways)? We have Slovenian passports.

Urška, since the citizens of Slovenia do not need a visa for both mainland China and Hong Kong, you can travel freely between those places absolutely visa free. You can take any border crossing and also you can take any mean of transport of your choice. There are no limits for Slovenian citizens at all. If you ask me, probably the best way to travel is a high speed train from Futian station (quite centrally located high speed train in Shenzhen city center) to Hong Kong West Kowloon station. You will easily reach Futian station from and to Shenzhen airport by taking a metro line number 11. One more detail. There will be more passengers on the plane you will arrive Shenzhen to and you will see some of them going to 24/240 hour visa free transit counter in order to obtain a temporary entry permit in order to be allowed to exit the airport, but you should not do that because you do not need a temporary entry permit at all. You will just fill out an arrival card and perform a fingerprinting at fingerprinting machine and take a receipt for it. After those two details, you will head straight to the immigration.
