About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Entry/exit port from SZ-Macau

Hi, Indonesian citizen, fly from SYD - HK Intl Airport (skip immigration) - Ferry to Shenzhen (Shekou Port). Staying 4 days 3 nights. Then leave SZ - Macau - HK. Is this valid for TWOV.
Do I need to exit SZ from Shekou Port or can I exit by land (bus)? If I buy the Ferry ticket via 3rd party online booking (e.g.Klook), is the booking confirmation sufficient as evidence for TWOV since I need to print the actual ticket at the ticketing machine at the terminal? Worried TWOV might not be approved.
Thank.

Sandy, your itinerary is definitely eligible for 240 hour visa free transit because using Shekou port (in Shenzhen) is definitely permitted under this visa free transit scheme. After your stay in Shenzhen (or in mainland China in general because you are not limited to Shenzhen only when traveling on 240 hour visa free transit) you will exit to Macau by ferry from Shekou port to Macau. It is possible, in theory, to use a bus as well, but the main problem in taking a bus is the fact that it is almost impossible to find a bus transport that will be a real, through line bought on a single ticket. In other words, you could easily encounter a problem in interpretation of such a line/ticket. In order to avoid such a situation, the recommendation is to rely on Shekou to Macau ferry without any doubt. When buying your ferry ticket it is irrelevant whether you will buy it directly through TurboJet website or a third party, but you have to be aware that you will need a ticket or a booking confirmation of such a ticket in both Sydney and upon arrival in Shekou (Shenzhen). It does not have to be a real ticket, but a booking confirmation where your name, route and exact date/time will be clearly visible. If there is no name because ferry operators do not always insist on name presentation, it will be enough that this ticket (booking confirmation) will be printed out from your email with the number of passengers that will use this transport option. I am not familiar with the look of Klook booking confirmation, but I am more than certain that it will be accepted if the number of passengers, route and time are clearly presented. Always, but always, print that confirmation out and have it at hand, ready to be presented to the relevant authorities in Sydney, Hong Kong and Shenzhen. Also, you will be able to print out your ticket at HKIA Skypier. Have a wonderful journey.
