About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Which ferry to take from HK to SZ

My travel plan is as follows: a flight from Singapore to Hong Kong, followed by Hong Kong to Shenzhen by ferry, then stay in Shenzhen for 7 days before taking a flight back from Shenzhen to Singapore. If I want to enjoy the 240-hour visa-free transit, can I take the ferry from HK SkyPier to go to Shekou without clearing immigration, or must I take from HK Macau Ferry terminal?

You can take a ferry directly from Skypier without any problem. In order to use Skypier you should be careful not to exit toward Hong Kong immigration. In other words, you have to stay airside all the time and all the way to Skypier ferry. Taking a ferry from Skypier to Shekou is definitely and without any doubt eligible way how to enter mainland China, Shenzhen in your case. Regardless the fact that you will not cross Hong Kong immigration, you are considered to be arriving from Hong Kong in the eyes and according to 240 hour visa free transit rules. In other words, you can save yourself a hassle of going to Hong Kong center in order to take a ferry to Shekou. In general, your itinerary is eligible for 240 hour visa free transit and you do not need any kind of visa. Also, when traveling on 240 hour visa free transit, you are not limited to Shenzhen city only, but you can visit many other Chinese areas as well, if you plan and want, of course. It is important that even before you depart toward Shenzhen you have your Shenzhen to Singapore tickets already booked because you will be asked to present it before your departure toward Shenzhen and also upon your arrival in Shenzhen. Have a wonderful journey.
