About:Shanghai 15-day Visa-free Policy for Cruise Tour Groups

Do I need a visa for China?

We are US citizens starting a cruise in Japan. We have 2 days in Shanghai with tours in Shanghai and Suzhou. We have another 1 day stop in Xiamen with a tour to Quanzhou. The time span of this is 4 days Our cruise ends up in Hong Kong, but we will continue on the same ship with our next stop being Vietnam (8 days from first day in Shanghai).

If the cruise tour group is organized by a legitimate Chinese travel agency, you are eligible for the 15-day visa-free for cruise tours and if not, you can still take advantage of the 240h visa-free transit to get 10-day visa free entry to places you mentioned.
