About visa X1

I have a plan to accompany my daughter to register at her campus as a new student in shenzhen. Is it possible for us to go to shanghai first for a couple of days before going to shenzhen? Is it possible for my daughter to enter shanghai with her X1 visa ??

Your daughter can enter shanghai with her X1 visa, but she needs to apply for a Temporary Residence Permit in Shenzhen within 30 days upon entry into China.

As for you, if you want to enjoy China’s 240-hour visa free transit, you need to travel along an eligible route, for example, Indonesia – Shanghai – Shenzhen – HK (or other third region or country other than Mainland China and Indonesia) – Indonesia. Or just apply for a Chinese tourist visa in advance.
