US Citizen Visiting China From Indonesia

Hi, I'm a US citizen living in Indonesia and planning to visit China in October 2025. I want to take advantage of the 10-day visa waiver, but I read about the third-country requirement. My question is, does the third country have to be the final destination or can it be just for transit? For example, if I enter China directly from Indonesia (nonstop), and I exit China by transiting in Singapore (without staying) before going to Indonesia, do I qualify for the visa waiver? Thanks.

Lee, transit country will be counted as a stop, so your plan Indonesia – Mainland China – Singapore – Indonesia is qualified for the 240h visa free transit.
