Hard Sleeper vs Soft Sleeper

Hi, I’m hoping to book the Nanning to Hanoi train for the 18/04. However, on this article is says the train is a soft sleeper, yet when I go to book, the only option available is hard sleeper. Please can you clarify why this is. Thank you.

Currently, the whole train is equipped with soft sleepers, hard sleepers are not available. The bad news is that passengers can now only buy the ticket at the railway station showing their original passport. Online booking is not available anymore.

Okay thank you. Do I have to purchase the ticket at Nanning station specifically, or can I purchase it in-person elsewhere in China. For example, I’m currently in Chongqing- could I purchase it at a chongqing railway station?

In addition to Nanning Railway Station, you can also buy the ticket in person at Guilin North Railway Station, Chongzuo Railway Station and Pingxiang Railway Station. Chongqing railway station doesn't issue that cross-border train ticket.
