About:Chinese Consulate in Los Angeles

application form

My current 10 Chinese Visa is expiring soon and i am applying for a new 10 Chinese Visa. Should i use the online application or the handwritten application form.
On the online application form , one of the question ask if i ever held any other nationality. since i was born in hong kong in 1957 and immigrated to USA with my parents, i am now a us citizen should i answer the question yes or no. if i answer yes, the drop down menu for the country for Hong Kong is not listed.
Also from the the website, it said as of January 1,2024 you don't need to have airline and hotel booking to apply for chinese visa. Is this correct.

Hi, Simon,
1) The application process is the same as that of your last application, so you need to fill out the form online first.
2) I think you don’t need to choose “yes”. It should ask about your present nationality. Just fill in "HK, China" correctly in the column of “Place of birth”.
3) During actual application, airline and hotel booking often work as a support of your entry purpose, so you are still advised to prepare.
