About:Chinese Embassies and Consulates

Visa Required? British citizen living in Malaysia (with Visa to reside in Malaysi) visit to Beijin

Im a British national residing in Kuala Lumpur (with a Visa to remain here until June 2026). I Wish to holiday in Beijing for 6 days. Do I need a visa and if so what type please? A have a valid passport with the required empty pages etc.

If you travel along country / region A – Beijing – country / region B, for example, Malaysia – Beijing – Hong Kong, you will be qualified for the 240h visa free transit, and no visa is required for your 6-day Beijing travel. If you plan a round trip between Mainland China and Malaysia, you can apply for a Chinese Tourist Visa (L) in advance in Malaysia.
