W, your itinerary will be covered by 24 hour visa free transit - thrice and you do not need any kind of visa. During your first layover in Beijing, you do not need to perform any formality nor fill out any form. You will just walk from one to the other gate (at a faster pace) and you will not be a subject of immigration and customs inspections. During your layovers in Shanghai and Hainan (I assume - Haikou) the first thing that you will do upon landing in Shanghai/Haikou will be to approach 24/240 hour visa free transit counter where you will apply for a temporary entry permit by presenting your flight itinerary and your hotel booking accommodation if you plan to have a hotel stay. This application is free of any charge. After your permit is granted, you will just proceed to the immigration and then into the city to enjoy your time on your own. Also, you do not need to apply for anything before your flight. I wish you a pleasant journey.
