About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Transit 16 Hours in Xiamen - Indonesian Passport

Hi,

I my flight is Seoul - Xiamen (transit 16hours) - Jakarta using Xiamen Airlines.
And in Xiamen i need to collect & recheck in my baggage.

My question are :
1. Off course i need to apply transit visa. And can i leave the airport ? (because my flight in the next day)

2. As far I know, xiamen will provide free transit hotel, is it correct?

Hi, I’m from Indonesia too. And I have been flight with Xiamen Airlines Jakarta-Xiamen-Seoul with layover <24h
1.You can leave immigrations, before the inspection ask the officer before queue to fill Arrival Card Temporarily. It granted you 24hours free transit visa as if you have a confirmed flight ticket to next flight. This visa counted 24h after landing not a after night so if you arrived at 3pm you should go before 3pm.

2. I came to Xiamen before the new regulation which is, there is no free transit hotels anymore after 10 January 2025, for passengers who flight from/to Seoul, Japan. If your flight is from/to Europe or cross continental or Landed to other Mainland China, Xiamen will provided free accommodations.

Your itinerary and your transit will be covered by 24 hour visa free transit and you do not need any kind of visa since your transit time in Xiamen is shorter than 24 hours. Since you need to collect and re-check with your baggage the first thing that you will do upon landing in Xiamen will be to approach 24/240 hour visa free transit counter where you will apply for a temporary entry permit by presenting your flight itinerary and your hotel booking accommodation if Xiamen Airlines offer you a hotel. This is something we do not know and you should check this detail with an airline. Airport itself does not offer free accommodation to anybody, but this is up to the airline. This application for a temporary entry permit is free of any charge. When your permit is granted you will head to the immigration because you have to formally enter mainland China in order to collect your luggage and to perform new check-in. You will see with the airline will it offer you an accommodation and based on that you will go to the hotel or you will stay at the airport. Alternatively, if the airline does not offer an accommodation on their own, you can book an accommodation on your own. It will be up to you to decide. In any case, when your time of departure arrives, you will perform all the formalities, cross the exit immigration and head to the gate for your flight to Jakarta. I wish you a pleasant journey.
