Is accommodation and return ticket required?

Do I need to have accommodation and return ticket for the visa application?

Formally, you don't need those two details, but if your visit to Shenzhen is not just a short day trip (return before midnight of the same day of your entry), a form that you will fill out will clearly ask for your address in Shenzhen. So, if you plan to stay overnight in Shenzhen or for several days, you are recommended to have a hotel booked for at least one overnight. Return ticket is not required. When your visit to Shenzhen is over, you can return back to Hong Kong by taking any border crossing and any mean of transport, high speed train included.
