About:Hainan 30-Day Visa-Free Access

Canadian wanting to travel from Vietnam to Hainan

Hello, I will be visiting Vietnam for about 12 day this fall. I would like to go over to Hainan for 4 to 5 days for tourism; however, there are no direct flights from Vietnam to Hainan. All flights have one stop (eg. via Guangzhou, via Shenzhen, etc) If that is the case, can I still visit Hainan visa-free?

If you cannot fly directly from Vietnam to Hainan, then you are not eligible for Hainan 30-day visa free access. But there is another option, the 240h visa free transit but you need to go to the third country or region (cannot be Vietnam) to qualify for it.
