About:China Visa on Arrival

Visa on Arrival at Zhuhai

Hello:

Can US citizens and Indonesia citizens apply for visa on arrival at Zhuhai just for visiting friends and relatives? Maximum stay is five days.

After the visit, they will go back to HK... but then they decide to go to Shenzhen in a week. Are they eligible for visa on arrival in Shenzhen? Thank you for your help!

It is important to understand that Zhuhai visa has only 3 days validity, so there is no way to stay in Zhuhai for 5 days based on Zhuhai visa on arrival. Also, it is important to understand that the 3 days start counting from 00:00 the day following the entry date. So, if you enter in the morning of April 20, you can stay in Zhuhai until April 23 at 24:00. Shenzhen VOA has 5 days validity, so when obtained it allows 5 days stay. These 5 days start in the same manner as the 3 days in Zhuhai VOA. The last, but very important is the fact that US citizens have almost immaculate success in obtaining these VOAs, but this is not the case with the citizens of Indonesia who are technically eligible, but also face relatively high risk of rejection.
