Entering the country on visa-free policy while having a work visa

Hello,

I would like to ask whether it is possible to enter China on a visa-free policy to travel around for 5 days, and then "start" my existing work visa period for 30 days? If so how can I handle it?

Thanks

I think you have to enter China with your visa as you main purpose is to work. You cannot take advantage of the visa free policy when you already have a visa. The immigration will confirm your visa while you enter. You can try to apply for an extension 7 working days in advance if you plan to stay for more than 30 days. And if you fail to get the extension, then you can leave and re-enter to enjoy another 30-day visa-free stay. To save time and money, you can leave for a nearby country or region like HK, Macau.
