Yes, your itinerary is eligible for 240 hour visa free transit, but you should take care of the two following details. Your total transit time in mainland China should be at least 24 and the most 240 hours. You will have to buy your train ticket even before you depart from Toronto because it will be your proof that you will be really in a transit through mainland China.
