I submitted my China Visa Tourist Application on line YTO2230707AL4942111 today.
How do I make an appointment at the China Embassy or Consulate in Toronto to pick up my China Visa

You need to make an appointment here: avas.mfa.gov.cn
Remember to choose Toronto before starting.

Later at the appointed day, go to lodge the submission. The staff will then give you a receipt, indicating the date to collect the visa.
