About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Transit visa and temporary sightseeing visa!

Hi,

My flight is from Finland - China (Shanghai) - Vietnam. I will be on a layover in Shanghai for 16 hours, so I would like to go out for sightseeing purposes. I hold a Vietnamese passport. So, do I need to apply for a sightseeing visa in advance?

No, visa is not required as long as you stay for less than 24 hours. But you need to apply for a 24h temporary entry permit to leave the airport.
