Can i enter Shenzhen on a 240 hour visa free from the UK to Shenzhen?

Can I enter Shenzhen on a 240-hour visa-free to visit my sick ex-Chinese wife with my daughter, flying from the UK to Shenzhen?

It depends on where you go after Shenzhen. To use the 240, you need to make a transit route like A - China - B so you cannot go back to the UK directly under the 240. I advise you to go to HK then fly back to UK to make it UK - Shenzhen - HK, an eligible transit route.
