About:China Visa Application in USA

Hi I already booked a ticket to Beijing from DFW, Texas in USA planning to go visit China / meet pot

Hi I already booked a ticket to Beijing from DFW, Texas in USA planning to go visit China / meet potential business partners in Weifang, in Shandong Province and would also love to go to Guangzhou to explore more business options. So this is majorly a discovery trip with the aim of meeting potential business people / wholesalers or manufacturers. I am a US CITIZEN holder plus my friend too.
1. Should I apply for business visa or just visiting visa?
2. Will the visa I apply to allow me to move to those different provinces or will I be required to get additional permits to move inland?? I am going with a friend who will be traveling from Portland Oregon. We booked for 15 days.
3. Since we are planning to move to different provinces which are far apart from each other, we do not clearly know how many nights we will spend in a province, how can we go about booking for accommodation? Will we be required to show at the port of entry the places we will stay at? We might spend a day or two in an area or three so example was looking to be in Beijing for two days then head down to Weifang then Guangzhou. We have our round tickets going back through the same airport we are coming in with in Beijing.
4. I live in Dallas area, is there consulate I can go to in Dallas Texas area? or I have to go get Visa in Washington, DC?
5. Should me friend living in Salem Oregon I will be travelling with go to Los Angeles, CA to get her visa?

I think you need a business M visa for this and you should at least prepare the hotel booking in the first city you will visit. Your visa allows you to travel to these cities. You two need to go to the consulates according to the consular district. You in Dallas should apply at Embassy of PRC in Washington DC and your friend should go to Consulate General of PRC in San Francisco.
