About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

10 day visa free

here is my plan:
canada-taiwan-china(guarding)-japan. does this qualify? or
canada-korea-layover in shanghai- taiwan or japan. no direct flight from canada to guandong.

Both your itineraries are eligible for 240 hour visa free transit. Taiwan - mainland China - Japan and South Korea - mainland China - Taiwan (or Japan). Under the assumption that you have present your itineraries correctly, you should just choose which one will you use based on your preferences. By the way, there is a direct, four times weekly flight from Toronto to Guangzhou (Guangdong province) provided by China Southern. Have a nice visit to China.
