Here is my plan:
Canada-China (Guangdong)-Taiwan-Japan-Korea-Canada.
Does this qualify?

Under the assumption that you have presented your itinerary correctly, there is no any doubt. Your itinerary is eligible for 240 hour visa free transit that is valid for the major part of China. You should just take care that your flight from Canada to Guangdong province does not have a landing on Taiwan of any kind. Have a nice journey.
