About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Nanchang

Hi my friend and I were planning on flying into Shanghai, getting the transit visa then taking a bullet train to Nanchang then taking one from Nanchang to Wuhan. We are allowed to enter Nanchang but not the rest of the Jiangxi Province. Are we able to take the bullet train to Nanchang and then take a another bullet train to Wuhan?

Jordan, you are definitely allowed to take the train from Shanghai to Nanchang and from Nanchang to Wuhan. You should just take care to take direct trains without any kind of trains change in non permitted area. Also, it is important that during your stay in Nanchang you do not make trips or similar outside of Nanchang city limits.

Also, you should you correct terminology because this is not a transit visa, but 240 hour visa free transit, so there is no visa of any kind at all. Also, you should take care that the immediate points before and after your mainland China visit have to be in two different countries or eligible territories. Eligible territories are Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau. Have a nice journey.
