About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Two stopovers in china

Hi. If I’m flying from London to Manila through Beijing and Guangzhou, and the total time spent in china is under 24h, am I still exempt from needing a visa. Even if one journey is a domestic leg (Beijing to guangzhou)? Thanks

Your itinerary will be covered by 24 hour visa free transit and you really do not need any kind of visa.

At the time of your check-in in London you will declare that you are traveling to Manila via China using 24 hour visa free transit. You will then present your flight tickets. After a short check, you will be allowed to board the plan.

Upon your landing in Beijing the very first thing you will do will be to approach 24/240 hour visa free transit counter where you will formally apply for a temporary entry permit, again, by presenting your flight tickets. This application is free of any charge. After your permit is granted you will head to the immigration and then to the gate for your domestic flight to Guangzhou.

Upon landing in Guangzhou, you will cross the exit immigration and head to the gate for your flight to Manila.

Now, since the new rules have become operational, even if your entire transit time was longer than 24 hours you would still be eligible, but this time for 240 hour visa free transit. In any case, you are good to go and I wish you a pleasant journey.
