About:Hainan 30-Day Visa-Free Access

Layover in Shanghai less than 24 hours then go to Haikou

I'm an Indonesia passport holder.
I will be arriving at Haikou Meilan airport from Tokyo via Shanghai (layover in Shanghai is less than 24 hours).
Do I need to prepare the visa?

So you want to apply for the Hainan 30-day visa free access? Then you need to to fly directly from a foreign country or region to Haikou airport without any layover in Mainland China. You need a visa for the route because you have a layover in Shanghai.

Yes, I want to apply for the Hainan 30-day visa free access.
But I will be having layover in Shanghai from my original country.
Since the layover is only 6 hours, I was wondering if I can utilize the "China 24-Hour Visa-Free Transit" during layover in Shanghai, then proceed with 30 days visa free in Hainan.
