About:Chinese Embasy in Ireland

14day holiday, staying with daughter, no hotel - Are we Ok without VISA?

Hi, my wife and I are planning to visit my Daugheter who is working as a teacher in Shanghai. Plan to stay with her and visit for 14 days, (Dec 24th 2024 till January 6th 2025). I presume we don't need a VISA, but what letter or document do we need to bring to present at Passport control in Shanghai Airport when we arrive. Thank you.

You need to book a flight ticket to leave China within 15 days as a proof of no overstay and need to tell the immigration staff of the address and number of your daughter.
