About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

We would like to exit the airport in Shen Zen to look around and do some shopping.

We are 3 sisters all Australian passport holders flying from Sydney to South India and then Hanoi, Vietnam for a few days. From Hanoi we fly back to Sydney with a 23.55 hour stop in Shen Zen. We would love to exit the airport in Shen Zen for some shopping and sightseeing. We permanently reside in Australia, have more than 3 months on our passports, and have our onward air tickets for Sydney. Will we be able to get a temporary entry permit in Shen Zen if we fill in Arrival/departure card?

This is not a problem for you at all. Australian citizens can enter, stay and explore China absolutely visa free for up to 15 days. In other words, there are no obstacles to fulfill your intentions.

You will just fill out arrival cards on board the plane that will take you to Shenzhen and when you land, you will head right to the immigration with your passports and filled out arrival cards. There is no any additional formality that you should perform. Have a nice journey.
