About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit in Guangdong

Hong Kong to Kaiping to Macau to Hong Kong

My flight lands in HKIA at 10:30am, can I catch the ferry from the sky pier ferry terminal to Shekou the same morning without going thru Hong Kong Immigration and can still get the 144 hour visa free transit? Or I have to enter Hong Kong first for a few days before going in China. Will that give me time to get to Kaiping by evening taking the route you suggested from your previous answer. Is there a direct bus from Shenzhen to Kaiping Yici bus terminal?
I also wonder if it is possible to leave Kaiping by going to Zhuhai border to Macau instead of backtracking to Shekou? Are there buses or boat from Zhuhai to Macau that I could buy and with confirmation for this route?

Yes, you can catch the ferry from the Skypier without going through Hong Kong immigration and head to Shekou or Nansha ports in order to be eligible for 144 hour visa free transit.

You do not have to enter Hong Kong in order to be eligible for 144 hour visa free transit. If you feel insecure, enter Hong Kong and then take a ferry to either Shekou or Nansha ports. If you enter Hong Kong, you will head to the center of the city and from there you can take a ferry to either Shekou or Nansha. It is not necessary to stay in Hong Kong for any specific time. Whether you will be able to reach Kaiping on that same day depends on the bus/train timetables. We cannot take responsibility for such details because here we are dealing with 144 hour visa free transit in Guangdong province and not with broader travel information.

As far as I know, the only direct bus options between Shenzhen and Kaiping depart from Shenzhen Shajing station (address: 深圳市宝安区沙井镇新沙路502号) and with arrival at Kaiping General Bus Station and not Yici station (address: 开平市长沙西郊28号). This one is very centrally located, so quite convenient. The last bus from Shenzhen Shajing departs at 16:25.

The only option that I am aware that has a through service from Zhuhai to Macau is a bus service from Zhuhai airport to Macau. I am not aware of any other option, although they might be possible.

Actually, it seems that the bus station that the bus from Shenzhen arrives to in Kaiping is really Yici bus station :).
