About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Kaiping. I hold a Canadian passport

Hi,

and would like to visit the city of Kaiping for three days. Port of entry is Hong Kong and port of exit is Macua. Would I qualify for the free visit?

You need a visa when going to Kaiping from HK by land. The only scenario where you don't need a visa is flying HK-Guangzhou-a third country (e.g., Taiwan or South Korea), then go to Kaiping by bus from Guangzhou while in Mainland China.
