Hongkong- Guangzhou-Hongkong visa free for EU citizen?

As a German citizen, I'll be staying in Hongkong 2025 for a month. As a tourist, I want to visit Guangzhou and other Greater Bay Area cities. Length: about a week. Ideally, without visa. Can I take a train from Kowloon Station or the MTR to Lo Wu from/to HKG - and return the same way - or do I need a third destination at the end of the journey, such as Macau or Taiwan?

Yes, you can take a train from HK to Shenzhen and return the same way without visa as Germans enjoy 15-day visa free entry to Mainland China. You don't need a third destination.

Werner, since you are a German citizen, you have to be aware that you can enter China absolutely visa free for a period of up to 15 days in the same way as if you were traveling to the UK. You can enter by boat, by train, by bus, on foot. You can enter by taking any border crossing, visit not only Guangdong province and Greater Bay Area, but also the rest of China. So, you do not need a third destination. All you will have to do is to fill out an arrival card at the border crossing and that's it. You will proceed to the immigration and after that all around the places you wanted to visit. When your visit is done, you will return in the way as you wish. Have a nice journey.
