About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit in Guangdong

Europe-Guangzhou- Hongkong

Hi,

I plant following trip:
Europe - Guangzhou 2days - than by train to HK 1 day and return to Europe.

Will I be able to take advantage of the 144 hour visa free rule?

From a Chinese partner I got the Info it would be better to go to Macau first and afterwards to Hongkong?

Somebody else told me, I can not Takte the train, but I have to take the ferry from Guangzhou to Hongkong.

Is it ok, if I stay 2 days in Guangzhou but only one day in HK before returning to Europe?

Do I understand correctly my Airline apply the visa in advance during the check-in?

Your itinerary Europe - Guangzhou - HK is eligible. It does not matter how long you are going to stay in HK.

The point is that you need to have a ticket in hand when landing in Guangzhou, proving that you are going to HK within the time limit and ferry ticket is the most acceptable from previous feedbacks. The airline does not apply for it for you; you apply for it on your own upon landing.

Do I understand correctly that the transfer by train could give problems? If it is recommended to cross the border by ferry, is there a preferred line or port here?

If I show a ferry ticket to HK for transit, do I need to go exactly with this ferry to HK or would it be possible to go by train or ferry later (within 144 hours) if my plans changed?

Yes, it is not eligible by train now and you can choose one of the following ports to take a ferry according to your convenience: Guangzhou Port, Nansha Port, or Lianhuashan Port.

You have to catch the ferry you booked to arrive in Hong Kong.
