About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Proposed Flight Itinerary

Just wanting to see if we are able to apply for the 144 hr visa for both Beijing and Shanghai for this proposed flight itinerary. Japan would be the second country after Beijing and then after visiting Tokyo, Canada would be the second country after visiting Shanghai. Could we get 144 hr visas for both Beijing and Shanghai?

Route:

Vancouver ——> Beijing ——-> Tokyo ——-> Shanghai ——-> Vancouver

Under the assumption that you have presented your itinerary accurately, there is nothing but to conclude that your itinerary is eligible for 144 hour visa free transit twice, first in Beijing and after that in wider Shanghai area.

One huge warning here!!! If you plan to use Air China flight from Vancouver to Beijing then you will not be able to use this option because the flight CA998 has an additional landing in Shenyang before it reaches Beijing. Based on 144 hour visa free transit you cannot have two mainland Chinese stops in a row! Please, check this detail and try to adapt your travel itinerary accordingly. I am sorry to bringing you not so good news.
