About:How to Travel to China without a Visa

Travel to Foshan from Hong Kong

I hold Canadian passport. We plan to go to Hong Kong for a few days, then visit Foshan by bus, then back to Macao/Hong Kong. What kind of Visa do I need? Can I use 144-hour visa-free transit?
We are also thinking to do a day trip from Hong Kong to Shenzhen for sightseeing by bus or train. Won't stay in Shenzhen overnight. Do I need a Visa? What kind of Visa do I need?

If you plan to travel to Foshanby bus, a ready visa will be needed. You can apply for it in China Visa Application Service Center in HK. With the visa, you can exit to anywhere after visiting Foshan and Shenzhen, including HK.

If you go from HK to Foshan then to Macau (not HK), then you are eligible for the 144 visa-free stay in entire Guangdong Province (Shenzhen included). If from HK to Shenzhen, by bus or train, then you need to apply for a Shenzhen VOA at a cost of CNY130 at Luohu, Huanggang or Shekou.
