About:Chengdu Tianfu International Airport

Tokyo -TFU T1 , TFU T1 - Istanbul IST
It is said that 'Baggage not checked through', so does it simply means that I'll need to pass the immigration police control and need a visa to collect my baggage and re-checkin for the next flight?
What if I don't bring any checked luggage? Can I still land in T1 and take the next flight on the same terminal in TFU without dealing with the transit visa?

You don't need a visa even if your baggage is not checked through. And you may need to go through the immigration check, collect your luggage and then the safety check. If without checked luggage, immigration and safety check are also needed if it's not an interline ticket. Anyway, you do not need a visa if the layover is within 24 hours.

Thank you so much. This 24 hours visa exemption is in place for all nationalities, even Iranians.
