About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Trip from London Gatwick, transiting in Shanghai Pudong International Airport and then to Japan

Hi!
I am a Nigerian passport holder, with a UK BRP and a Japan Visa, I will be having a 1 hour 25 minute layover at Shanghai and I was wondering if I qualify for the 24 Hour Visa-Free transit. I will however be changing to another aircraft but by the same carrier in the same terminal (e.g China Southern MU 6024 then changing to MU 539)

Ibrahim, you will be definitely covered by 24 hour visa free transit and you do not need any kind of visa. All you have to do is to walk from one gate to the other. Also, you will not be a subject to any immigration and customs control, but you will pass a short security check between the two gates. You do not need to perform any formality nor you have to fill out any form. You should just be a bit faster to accomplish your transfer successfully because your layover is quite short. All in all, you are ready to go.
