U.K. Passport Holder 18 hour transit through chongqing. Can we leave airport and do we need 24 or 72 hour transit visa

You don´t need any kind of entry permit..If your transit is under 24h you are eligible for the 24h direct transit.Just ask for a temporary entry permit at the immigration and you can leave the airport.
