Is it possible to re-enter China using an M visa as a tourist?

I have an existing multiple-entry, Category M visa following a business trip to China in October last year. The visa is valid for two years from Aug-23 to Aug-25. I will subsequently re-visit for business purposes in Spring/Summer 2025.

I am planning a trip to Shanghai for tourism purposes in Oct/Nov 2024. Is is possible to enter China using my existing Cat. M visa? Or would I need to apply for an Cat. L visa? If so, would there be any issues obtaining L. visa with my existing M. visa? I cannot find any official guidance on this matter - just some peoples conflicting opinions.

With a valid M visa, you don't need to provide certificate documents to prove your business purpose after the first entry. So you can enter to travel with your M visa. There is no need to apply for another visa.
