l type visa - tourist

Question

I am American. My son, also American, is in school in China. I plan to visit him this summer for 2-3 weeks (July 2024) and then return for his graduation for 2-3 weeks (July 2025). Is there a VISA that I should apply for that would cover both of these visits to China? Or should I plan to apply for a Visa before each trip to China?

If you plan to apply for L visa, you need to make an application before each trip.But you are also eligible for S2 visa, through which you may only need to apply for one time. FYI: www.travelchinaguide.com/embassy/visa/private-visit.htm
