L Type Visa - tourist

I am American. My son, also American, is in school in China. I plan to visit him this summer for 2-3 weeks (July 2024) and then return for his graduation for 2-3 weeks (July 2025). Is there a VISA that I should apply for that would cover both of these visits to China? Or should I plan to apply for a Visa before each trip to China?
