About:China Family Reunion Visa

Converting a L visa to a Q1 while in China

I am a UK citizen and next year intend to marry my Chinese citizen fiancé in China. I assume I need a L visa to initially enter China. My question basically is once married, can I then convert this visa to a Q1 while in China or do I need to travel back to the UK?

I'm afraid you need to go back to the UK to apply for a Q visa.
