So you will fly to Shanghai and stay for 3 days then start the cruise tour? You can enjoy 144-hour visa-free transit for the 3 days holding your international cruise ticket to Japan. Does the cruise tour end in Shanghai? If yes and you plan to fly back home, then you can enjoy 24/144-hour visa-free transit for the Japan - Shanghai - home country route, which means no visa is needed either. The thing is you need to have the flight ticket leaving Shanghai to your home country in hand.
