Bus no.8 does not run to Jinshanling. Yuo can get the real-time information on the official Wechat account of Jinshanling, but it's in Chinese only.

I logged into the official Wechat account of Jinshanling and got to know it's "Holiday Special Line 8 (节假日专线8路）", not simply bus no.8. The Beijing bus no.8 runs between Qianmen and Jinchan West Road South Crossing, having nothing to do with Jinshanling.

Let's go back to the topic. The official announced on this past April 1 that Bus Holiday Special Line 8 would start to run again since this April 4. It departs on every Saturday, Sunday and during holidays from Dongzhimen to Jinshanling at 08:00 and returns at 16:00. Ticket fare is CNY50.
Donzhimen pick-up point: Starting from the Exit B of the Dongzhimen subway station, walk eastward for 200 meters to reach the traffic lights, then turn left and walk for 150 meters more.
